Performance Films for Windows and Doors

Achieve the performance you want

Worthington and Graham can supply and install a large range of window films to achieve the results you require.

The application of a window film is a quick, cost effective and flexible alternative to glass replacement.

The areas in which these performance films can be beneficial are:

Solar Control

Reflective films feature reflectance on both internal and external surfaces for significant reductions in summer cooling costs and heat retention in winter.  This is combined with a high level of glare reduction and a 99% reduction in harmful UV rays. Excess heat can render air conditioning systems ineffective and make working conditions uncomfortable, thus reducing efficiency in the workplace. These films can be highly effective in both residential and commercial applications in reducing energy costs.

Safety and Security

Safety and security films can be applied to upgrade existing non safety glass to conform to all present safety requirements and regulations. These films are available in a variety of clear, neutral and reflective finishes, also with a range of solar control options. These thicker films meet the highest standards for burglary resistance, blast mitigation and basic safety glazing.

Privacy window film can turn clear glass into an opaque pane in a range of matt or decorative finishes to solve your privacy problems.  Films are an excellent, cost effective method of window tinting, whether it be through a patterned frosted window film, reflective window film or opaque window films.  Frosted window film (sometimes called frosted glass film, window tint film or window frosting film) can protect your privacy without requiring full replacement of a pane of glass.  One way window film is also an excellent alternative for privacy purposes.

UV Reduction

UV clear film is the ideal solution for protecting valuable items such as furniture or paintings from fading. It provides the highest level of protection against the sun’s UV rays without affecting the appearance of the glass, and is commonly used in art galleries

Frosted film is applied to windows, doors or partitions to help prevent injury caused by people walking into full height areas of glass. Film is applied to meet with Building Regulations 2000 Part M

Glare Reduction

A large variety of films are available for application with varying levels of glare reduction up to 80%. This is particularly beneficial in countering the effect of the sun’s glare on computer screens and monitors thus reducing operative’s eye strain. Unlike with the use of blinds these films enable a clear view to the outside during daylight hours.

Opalux® Manifestation Films

Opalux® Glass Manifestation film products are for upgrading glazing in accordance with Health & Safety recommendations which advocate the marking of large uninterrupted glazed areas; specifically, the Workplace (Health, Safety & Welfare) Regulations 1992, Regulation 14 states that: “Every window or other transparent or translucent surface in a wall or partition … door or gate shall, where necessary for reasons of health or safety … be appropriately marked or incorporate features so as, in either case, to make it apparent.” Miniature logos in acid-etched film, are an excellent solution, providing the needed safety marking and at the same time discreetly reinforcing the company’s visual identity to employees and visitors alike.

Manifestation marking can take the form of dots, squares, stripes etc, or bespoke designs repeated at appropriate intervals and heights.

Opalux® Graphics Films

Opalux® films can also be used to produce personalised window graphics for long-term or temporary application to glass. Company logos can be used repeatedly to reinforce a corporate identity programme or for manifestation marking of large glazed panels. The logo or design can be made in the appropriate film (eg acid-etch effect PA902) and applied to plain glass, or alternatively reverse-cut out of a filmed panel.

A corporate decorative window film can help launch a company’s new visual identity, both internally and externally, and on time. A new logo or namestyle – which embodies the organisation’s personality and positioning, and differentiates the new company from its predecessor as well as its competitors – will need to be launched simultaneously to all employees, and then consistently repeated and defended all over.

Stained glass window films or other decorative window films can be used simply to improve the aesthetics of your home.

Opalux® Solar Control Films

We also offer a wide range of films designed specifically to increase the thermal efficency of our glass.
